East of Eden.

Tom got into a book, crawled and groveled between the covers, tunneled like a mole among the thoughts, and came up with the book all over his face and hands.
Thats how I felt about this book. Its largeness intimidated me, even though I usually enjoy them. The longest books have the most juicy substance of life and thats where the good stuff is. Not to say, short books arent good, but the details are what make a book a good book and thats what you find in long established narratives. I would be reading it, the first Ive ever read from Steinbeck and then I would be forced to stop and reread the lyrics that just thread under my eyes. Steinbeck for some reason makes me think of summer and I believe before its out Ill hopefully have The Grapes of Wrath under my belt. James Deans performance, another virgin experience of mine is going in my DVD right now. If you havent read it, Dont miss this book.
